HOW TO DESTROY A PIECE OF PAPER
This five-week true beginners’ drawing course is intended for absolute beginners, especially those who have ever uttered the words: "I can't draw.”
Unique in my approach, my drawing course gives you the space and time to playfully explore a variety of drawing materials, developing techniques from the ground up. The drawing exercises we engage in will teach you core skills and ease you back into the creative process, during which you will regain a sense of artistic confidence that once came naturally to you.
By the end of our five weeks together you will have reached a place where you can in fact draw, and -more importantly- believe that you can draw. And you’ll have a sketchbook full of your own drawings to always remind you.
The course fee is £125 = £25 per 2.5hr class x 5 weeks. An A4 sketch pad, full set of drawing pencils, and a wide variety of other drawing materials are also provided so you don’t need to bring anything except your lovely self!
In upcoming news: Many past students of mine have requested follow-ups to this course, and I am pleased to announce that I am developing three more courses which will build upon this first one. How to Destroy a Piece of Paper is now step 1 in this 4-part beginners drawing series. I will release more information about them soon, but in the meantime please feel free to enroll yourself into my beginners drawing course below so you too can learn how to destroy a piece of paper! :)
A little bit about me:
My name is Dre and I am an interdisciplinary artist and a creative-arts instructor: professions with skills that I am both trained in and that have come naturally to me. I have been working creatively with children and adults for 30 years, beginning in my hometown of New York City, then Paris, Madrid, Seoul, and now the Scottish Highlands.
Professionally I am a lino-cutting graphic designer, with an associates degree in Graphic Design from Parsons in 2007 (NYC). Before that I earned my teaching certification as a TEFL teacher in 2005 (Madrid), and my bachelors degree in International Communications and Media from AUP in 2003 (Paris). And finally, since 2022 I have been a member of the Scottish PVG scheme.
